Position Summary:

This role is responsible for general accounting maintenance, costing and reporting functions for Microtech Knives, Inc, and its related entities.  This position supports the Vice President of Finance by providing financial leadership, analysis and information to support the goals and direction of the company.  In addition, the position leads, supports, and directly backs-up the other back office functions, such as payables, receivables and cash management.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 

  • All month-end closing activities including all related financial reporting (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow) for Microtech & related entities.
  • Ensuring that financial statements and information are in accordance with GAAP, where applicable, and are accurate.
  • Maintaining the cost accounting system and all necessary cost analysis to help drive component make/buy and product development/obsolescence decisions.
  • Reconciling all balance sheet and bank accounts.
  • Accounting and tracking of fixed assets.
  • Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the company budget and financial planning processes.
  • Assisting the monitoring of financial performance to plan and alerting management if course corrections are required.
  • Tracking, forecasting and ensuring adequate cash flow.
  • Government reporting related to finance, taxation, and general business.
  • Organizing and coordinating year-end audit.
  • Other accounting and finance activities and analysis as directed by the Vice President of Finance, such as assisting in the compliance reporting to the bank.

Supervision Responsibilities: TBD

Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, or Education Required:

  • A 4-year degree in accounting or business-related degree with emphasis in accounting
  • 2 years auditing experience; CPA designation preferred
  • 5+ years current, hands-on experience in a progressively responsible accounting role
  • Experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience working with ERP systems
  • Effective communication skills; able to present technical information to individuals as well as large groups, including senior management
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and overtime when needed
